Fact checking is difficult especially when teh Google is hard to use:
Tuesday’s L.A. Times, dateline San Francisco, emphasis added:
On her first visit to California as first lady, Michelle Obama on Monday helped volunteers construct a school playground here on a site that has been barren for years.
L.A. Times, dateline Merced, May 17:
First Lady Michelle Obama on Saturday urged the first full graduating class at UC Merced to help solve society’s problems with the same creativity and persistence they showed in wooing her to be their commencement speaker and in pioneering the 4-year-old campus in the San Joaquin Valley.

Is there anything Microsoft won’t mimic? And then they wonder why they get no respect and are not get considered an innovator:
A few days ago, a group of enterprising bloggers discovered that Microsoft had just trademarked the name ‘Hohm.’ Today, we can finally reveal what Hohm is really about. At its core, Hohm is Microsoft’s answer to Google’s PowerMeter and similar services. Hohm is dedicated to giving consumer’s information about potential energy savings, while at the same time connecting those consumers whose energy providers already use smart meter technology with real-time information about their own energy consumption at home.
Always copying and always sucking.

Netbooks have run their course:
What’s the difference between a netbook and a notebook? If you know the answer, you’re in the minority…of netbook owners. According to a survey by market research outfit The NPD Group, 60 percent of consumers who purchased netbooks assumed they would function just like regular laptops. Consequently, only 58 percent were satisfied with their purchases, compared to 70 percent of consumers who purchased traditional notebooks.
Time for Apple to step in to show how its done (unfortunately, Apple is not going debut products in the middle of the worst recession in 100 years).
