May 6, 2009Hint to newspapers: draw traffic with free op-eds, celebrity, sports, and gadget coverage (you know, information that you can get somewhere else for free) and upsell readers with news (hopefully they recognize the distinction between information and news).

“Abound”? Two guys started false rumors to either troll for more traffic or to manipulate stock prices. It has nothing to do with any acquisition.

So lets get this straight about Twitter acquisitions
May 6, 2009First Facebook wanted to buy Twitter. Some Harvard nerd said the NYTimes should buy Twitter. Then Arrington pulled a rumor out of his ass about Apple buying Twitter, this was, of course, after Arrington claimed that Google was getting ready to buy Twitter. Now SAI comes out to declare that Microsoft MUST buy Twitter.
Otay. What a load of crap. In these times no one is stupid enough to pay $500M+ for a firm with a business model. No one except …
Microsoft is extremely vulnerable to succumbing to peer pressure when it comes to acquisitions and investments (Facebook). Just saying.
