Apple’s Days Are Numbered:
But the commercials, which started off innocently and funny, quickly became slanderous and just plain mean. Apple was once known for it’s anti-corporation philosophies that attracted so many users to it, but now those same users are being turned off by the harsh marketing changes and the changes in the underlying philosophies. Where customer service was once so important to Apple, now it’s about profit.
Slanderous how? Did I miss something? Is there any evidence of any of this? iPhone satisfaction: 79% – highest in the industry. And overall, Apple is ranked in the top quartile of 100 companies in the recent rankings. But, I agree, profits are evil. Insane profits should be solely restricted to Microsoft. Harsh marketing? New marketing rules by Rohit: from now on Apple should use Hello, Kitty in their ads.
WTF are “Anti-corporation philosophies”? I guess that’s one reason Visicalc was a huge hit – it was being used by all the pot smoking counter-culture hippies in Haight-Ashbury.
Apple has always boasted about their security and stability, to the point where they began to become cocky. Now many “hackers” are targeting the company. Apple’s MobileMe initiative has had nothing but problems, and they have been very quick to already release service packs to the new iPhone as well as the new Mac OS Leopard.
Cockiness = bad. Got it. WTF is a service pack? Apple has issued Tiger 11 updates in 18 months, 4 updates for Leopard in the last 9 months, and 3 updates to the iPhone in 12 months. I guess updates are bad?
Many users are becoming fed up with Apple’s philosophical change and unless they do something about it, the growing market share that Apple enjoys will start to decrease.
But, that decreasing market will force Apple to be less cocky and increase their customer service. And if they increase their market share, then they will get more cocky and lose their bearings and share will decrease again! And on on on on on. Also, what “philosophical changes”?
Here’s one personal development skill that I value: you can earn the respect of other people by knowing what fuck you are talking about.
