MS Phone TV Internet thingie
May 17, 2007Craig Mundie trumpets Microsoft’s research into cellphones.
Microsoft has a research project called “Fone+” that would allow the phone to work with a TV as a secondary display, and one that could allow video stored on the device to be played back on the television.
I am guessing that this is the same device that researchers in Microsoft India patented:
Two Microsoft researchers, Kentaro Toyama and Sean Blagsvedt, are seeking a patent on technology that would essentially create a makeshift PC by connecting a mobile phone to a television. It would use the phone’s processing power and wireless connection, in conjunction with the TV display, to access the Web and do other basic computing tasks.
Move along. Nothing to see here.
