WSJ covers the latest news regarding Apple’s stock option debacle. The entire thing stinks, irrespective of whether Jobs knew or not or recommended the dates or not. I think the timing and the amount involved reveal that management had a lack of confidence regarding Apple’s future and/or were greedy. The 2000, post-iMac exuberance, grant in particular strikes me as a desperate measure – clearly the iPod was nowhere in the plans. I am not sure where all this will lead, but I feel let-down and I suspect I am not the only one.
