It’s time for speculative hell again

November 20, 2006

Tao of Mac has the longest running iPhone rumor smack-down list. Recent entries ensure that the run is nowhere near the end. Here’s the round up from the last two weeks:

iChat Mobile

iPhone (since attaching a number of phones ordered – 12 million – adds authenticity)

iPhone includes 2MP camera.

iPhone includes infineon chips.

The touchless iPod

An AMD Macbook (one question: why? Will this drive Macbook price down by $400?)

Justin Long no longer the Mac guy.

John Hodgman will play a switcher (actually, that is an interesting premise).

Apple iTunes album pricing changes.

I feel so left out. Can I add one rumor that I heard, uhh, in, let’s say it was Digitimes. Evidently the Google-Apple connection has been working hard on including local search+maps on the iPod. Everytime you dock the iPod, it syncs with your local search history on Google and automatically loads maps, directions, and a local directory onto the iPod. Future functionality will include voice synthesis so it can direct users when hooked into the iPod Car Adapter. Hey, that’s not bad for 10 minutes worth of speculation. See how easy that was? Feel free to list your own rumor.

More rumors: Tablet Macs, of course, with the cursory mention of Taiwan manufacturers for authenticity.
Macbooks with new chip that re-uses thermal energy.
