CNN speculates on Apple’s stock price and outlook. It includes this oft-mentioned nugget on the recent board movement:
The addition of Schmidt, an “anti-Microsoft guy” who was formerly CEO at software maker Novell, is a sign Apple may have its sights set on competing for more business with larger corporate customers
Hmm. Lets hope that he’s learnt something from his lackluster tenure at Novell.
Also, I don’t think adding Schmidt is going to change the anti-enterprise attitude that evidently pervades Apple. Well-informed, inside view from Applepeels:
Steve doesn’t mince any punches about what kind of company Apple is. He continually tells employees, even his enterprise sales force, that Apple isn’t an enterprise company. ….
Staying out of the enterprise was a matter of conscious decisions by a management team that really never valued the enterprise.
